Eric Bailey - Director
As a four year letterwinning & All New England Midfielder at UMASS Amherst with 100 career points coach Bailey earned MVP honors in the 1996' East/West New England All-Star Game and played in the 96' North /South All Star Game. His 1993' and 1995' UMASS teams made the NCAA playoffs ultimatley losing to the National Champion.
Prior to UMASS Coach Bailey was a midfielder at Cheshire high school 88-91' & attackman on the undefeated 1992' Bridgton Academy (ME) team that played a national schedule.
Bailey started his coaching career at Cheshire HS in 2007 under head coach Rich Pulisciano. He coached alongside his brother Lee between 2007-2010'. During his tenure at CHS coach Bailey was selected as the 2009’ CT HS Assistant COY (Def Coord) and the 2010’ CT HS State Assistant COY (Off Coord). In 2010-2011 Bailey moved onto Quinnipiac University. During 2011 Quinnipiac enjoyed a stellar season and a league (NEC) championship opportunity.
Bailey accepted the North Haven assistant coaching position spring 2012 and was then named head coach of North Haven HS in 2013. In 2014' he was named the (SCC) Coach Of The Year and CT HS (Class M) COY. Under Bailey's direction NH HS has undergone a healthy transformation and is considered annually one of the upper tier SCC teams. He is now an assistant at Choate Rosemary Hall.
Ethan McDonnell - Director Player Development, Choate Head Coach
From Montreal, Canada, Coach Mac made his way to Connecticut first as a four-year student at Choate Rosemary Hall. At Choate, Coach Mac captained both the football and lacrosse teams. Upon graduating from Choate in 2009, Coach Mac matriculated to Concordia University in Montreal where he captained the University’s lacrosse team. While at Concordia, Coach Mac played Senior A & B box lacrosse, both in the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League (QSLL) and the Tri-Nations Lacrosse League (TNLL). In 2012, Coach Mac returned to Choate Rosemary Hall to join the School’s faculty and to coach football and lacrosse, serving as the football team’s assistant defensive coordinator and the lacrosse team’s offensive coordinator. Since then, Coach Mac has won 2, back-to-back, New England Championships in football and has won a Founder’s League Championship in lacrosse in 2013. Coach Mac has helped shepherd his lacrosse players to the next level, having coached players currently at Duke, Denver, Brown, Dartmouth, Notre-Dame, Fairfield University, Yale, St. Joseph’s, Middlebury, Tufts, Amherst, to name a few. Coach Mac has been promoted to Choate Rosemary Hall's Head Lacrosse Coach in 2019'.
Brian Adkins - Foran Head Coach
Brian is currently the Head Coach at Foran High School of Milford. Previously he has been involved with the programs at Branford HS, West Haven HS, St Joseph's and Marist College. Coach Adkins was the CT Lacrosse Coach of the Year 2002 & 2007. In 2003 Coach Adkins was CT HS State Champion, Coach of the Year as well as the CT Lacrosse Man of the Year. Coach Adkins was awarded the New Haven Register Coach of the Year 2003, 2005 and the CHSCA Coach of the Year 2006. In 2007 coach Adkins' Branford HS team was state runner-up and he was named the US Lacrosse Connecticut Coach of the Year. Brian has served as a US Lacrosse Area Chairmen (State of CT) 2013 - present.
Mike Devine - Cheshire Head Coach
Coach Devine was named the Cheshire HS head coach in the summer 2019'. Coach Devine was a CT HS 2X All SCC, 2009' Super Jr, 2010' 1st Team All-State, 2010' CT State Champion, Eastern CT State University 2011-2014, 4X All Little East Conference Awardee, 3X All-American, 2012' LEC Player of the Year, 1st Team all ECAC & 1st Team all New England, Eastern CT University Grad Assistant 2015'. Co-Offensive Coordinator Cheshire HS/2017' Class L State Finalists, Assistant COY Award.
Dave Carpenter - North Branford Head Coach
Coach Carpenter played collegiately at Eastern CT State University from 2004-2007, he is the all time leader in assists and points, a two-time first team LEC Conference selection & Little East Conference "Player of the Year" in 2006 & 2007. Coach Carpenter led Division III in points and assists per game in 2007. Following graduation, coach served as the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator at Eastern CT State University from 2008-2013. He currently is the head coach at North Branford.
AJ Alessi - ND West Haven Head Coach
Coach Alessi comes from a long line of lacrosse success in his family. A standout player at Branford and Quinnipiac, Alessi became the second coach in school history taking the reigns of the ND lacrosse program for the 2014 season. In his two years, he has led the Green Knights to double-digit wins each season. ND is coming off its best year in school history winning 13 games and advancing to the semifinal round of the CIAC Class M tournament for the first time in the spring of 2015. Alessi, who was a high school all-American at Branford and helped lead Quinnipiac University to the league playoffs in each of his four years as a Bobcat, is a para-professional at East Haven HS and has a Master’s Degree in Education from Quinnipiac University. Alessi was a four-year letterwinner in soccer and lacrosse at Branford. He helped guide the Hornets to the 2003 Division I state title and the 2005 Southern Connecticut Conference regular season championship in lacrosse.
Chris landry - Waterford HS
Chris Landry as the coach of Waterford HS from 2007-2018. Landry's final year as coach of the Lancers before being promoted to Director of Athletics was capped with a Class M semi final appearance in 2018. 2017, the Lancers finished as runners up in the Class S championship game. In 2016 the Lancers qualified for the ECC tournament for the second time in program history, and lost in the finals to East Lyme 6-5. The Lancers were the 2018, 2017, 2016 & 2009 ECC Division Champions. Coach Landry was awarded both the 2016 & 2017 State Class S Coach of the Year & the 2015 & 2016 Norwich Bulletin Coach of the Year.
Coach Landry’s coaching career began in 2000, serving as an assistant coach at Oneonta State, NY followed by two years at Springfield College, MA before becoming the head coach at Mitchell College in 2004. Coach Landry has been working summer lacrosse camps since 1996. Landry, an attackman at Springfield College was awarded as conference player-of the-year and New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Star first team selection. As well, Landry participated in the New England East-West All-Star game as well as the USILA Division III North-South All Star game. Coach Landry, a native of South Hadley, Massachusetts was selected as a High School All-American in his senior season. Coach Landry has coached for the Connecticut Cardinals Club Lacrosse, Boneyard Lacrosse Club before joining Team CT.
Bill Els - Wesleyan University Goalie Coach
Bill Els enters his second season on the Cardinals' coaching staff in 2019 after spending the previous four years as the Defensive Coordinator and goalie coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). During his four-year tenure at RPI, the Engineers posted an overall record of 34-15 and an NCAA Division III Championship appearance in 2016. RPI won the Liberty League title in 2016 and finished the season ranked in the top-15 nationally.
Prior to his stint at RPI, Els served as the goalie coach at Connecticut College. While there, the Camels earned an NCAA Tournament berth and a top-15 ranking in 2012.
In the past six years, Els has produced three All-Americans, one at each school, in Bobby Bleinstein (Conn. College), Alex Castronovo (RPI) and Otto Bohan '20 (Wesleyan). It was the first All-American award for all three athletes.
Originally from Long Island N.Y., Els attended St. Anthony High School in Smithtown N.Y. from 1976-80. He was the starting varsity goalie all four years and earned All-Long Island honors. Following high school, Els earned a scholarship to Hofstra University and started four years there from 1980-84. In 1983 and 1984, the team ranked in the top-10 in the country at the Division I level. After Hofstra, Els followed in his father's footsteps and joined the New York Fire Department. He served 20 years and was cited for bravery three times. Els also served during 9/11.
Brian White - Guilford Head Coach
Coach White has led the Guilford HS boys lacrosse program since 2006. In both 2009, 2012, 2016 & 2019 Coach White was named the Connecticut Class M Coach of the Year by the CHSLCA. Coach White played collegiately at Plymouth State.
Brendan Hylan - Morgan HS Head Coach
Born and raised as a part of a family who helped build up Clinton Youth Lacrosse and Morgan High School Lacrosse Programs. Coach Hylan comes from a family of lacrosse players and coaches and has continued the tradition. Hylan is the current Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at his alma mater, Morgan High School where he was a 4 year starter, 2 year captain, and goaltender (New Haven Register All Area). He was elected the 2019 Shoreline Conference Coach of the Year.
Hylan played collegiately at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA and was a senior captain midfielder and 4 year starter (2 time Academic All Conference). Coach Hylan has played and coached numerous positions in the sport and all different aspects of the sport.
Colin Uyeki - Wesleyan - Attack
Coach Uyeki is a recent graduate of Wesleyan University where he was a four-year letterman, 2018 DIII National Champion. As a senior, he was voted captain by his teammates for the 2019 season. Before Wesleyan, coach Uyeki was a four-year starter at North Haven High School, where he amassed 285 career points. He was a 2x All-State attackman, 2015 SCC player of the year, and 2015 USILA All-American. Coach Uyeki also plays internationally for the Scottish national team. He was the team leader in points and 2nd in the tournament in assists (32) at the U19 FIL World Lacrosse Championships in 2016. In 2018 he joined the senior roster to compete in the FIL World Lacrosse Championships.
Colin graduated with a BA in Neuroscience & Behavior and currently works doing clinical biological & bio mechanical orthopaedic research at the New England Musculoskeletal Institute at UCONN Health. Coach Uyeki will be taking the MCAT this September.
Max Groen - St Mary's - Attack, Choate Assistant Coach
Coach Groen was an Attackman at St. Mary’s College of Maryland where in his senior season of 2019 he was elected team captain and led the Seahawks to their first ten-win season since 2013. Along the way, Groen racked up 128 career points, being one of only four 100+ point scorers for St. Mary’s in over a decade. Before St. Mary’s, Coach Groen attended Choate Rosemary Hall where he started as a sophomore on their Founders League winning squad. Coach Groen is now returning to Choate for his first year as an assistant coach on the Varsity staff under Coach McDonnell.
Cole Pecora - Springfield - Midfield, Wesleyan Assistant Coach
Coach Pecora was a Midfielder and Attackman for North Haven HS b/n 2012-2015'. He was a Two Time All Conference and All State selection. Cole went on to Springfield College and was a three year starting midfielder where he captained the 2019 team and was selected All Conference. While at Springfield coach Pecora enjoyed four straight playoff appearences. He is currently emplyed at Wesleyan as an assistant coach w/the men's lacrosse program.
Casey Dowd - Florida Launch MLL
From Madiosn CT coach Dowd played for Boston Cannons, Rochestler Rattlers and is currently emplyed by the Florida Launch as their Face-Off Specialist. Coach Dowd played collegiately for Sienna College and holds NCAA records for face-off wins and ground balls per game. Coach Dowd is currently an assistant coach at NESCAC Colby College.
Chris Kennedy - ST Paul Catholic Head Coach
Coach Kennedy played his high school lacrosse at Southington HS. He is a teacher and the current boys lacrosse head coach and assistant football coach at St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol.
Scott Rossi - Berlin Head Coach
Coach Rossi's playing career began in college as one of the founding members of the Eastern Connecticut State University men's lacrosse program. After graduation, he played with several men's post-collegiate clubs. One of his most memorable playing experiences came when he was selected as a Master's League All-Star and competed against the Irish National Team. Coach Rossi's coaching career goes back roughly 20 years. He began as a youth coach in Hamden, Connecticut before founding the Berlin Youth Lacrosse Program in his hometown. Aside from his experiences in youth lacrosse, Coach Rossi has been at the helm of the Berlin Boys Varsity Lacrosse program since it's inaugural season in 2012. In just six seasons, his teams have won 72 games, made five consecutive Class M tournament appearances and have been a force in the CCC South.
Torrey Martone - Cheshire Academy Head Coach
Coach Martone is currently a defensive assistant at with the Wesleyan Men’s Lacrosse team, which won the DIII National Championship in 2018'.
Martone was a three-year starter at the University of Hartford where he was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year following the 2016 campaign. Martone led the team in caused turnovers in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons, as well as the America East Conference in 2015 (21). He finished fourth all time in caused turnovers at Hartford. During his senior season, Hartford won the America East Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division I Tournament. Martone was also named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.
Martone was a two-time high school All-American and three-time All- State, at Cheshire High School in Cheshire, Conn. where he played four seasons of lacrosse. In 2010, Martone was a starter for the team when they won the SCC title, and the Class L State title. He earned First-Team All-SCC honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.
Coach Jewett has been around the game of lacrosse since his youth days in Ithaca, NY. He has played and coached at the youth, HS, Club, College and international levels, for both girls and boys, women and men. His lacrosse coaching experiences, in combination with his professional background in teaching, make Coach Jewett an effective instructor and leader on and off the rectangle.
Dan Lawson - Siena College
Graduated of Siena College NY. Transferred in from Herkimer CC…Played two seasons at Herkimer, totaling 69 points in 21 games...Scored 23 goals and had 31 assists in 2009...As a sophomore, led team past Jefferson CC in Sub-Regionals and then upset No. 2 Hudson Valley CC in Region III Semifinals before falling to No. 1 Onondaga CC in the Finals....Played varsity lacrosse at Amherst High School NY.
Anthony Mortali - ND West Haven Defensive Coordinator
Defenseman for Branford HS from 2002-2005. All-SCC, All-State, All-Area and Captain in 2005. 2003 CT State Champions. Four year starter at defense for Sacred Heart University. Member of both football and lacrosse teams. Currently an assistant football coach at University of New Haven and assistant lacrosse coach (Defensive Coordinator) at Notre Dame-WH.
Joe Zuskauskas - Quinnipiac - Goalie
Joe Zuskauskas graduated from Cheshire Academy in 2015. Afterwrad he spent a year at Broidgton Academy (Bridgton ME) for a post graduate year and then played four years at Quinnipiac Uiversity where in his sophmore season ranked top 30 in save percentage and gaols against average in Division I. Coach will be graduate from QU in the spring of 2020'.
Coach Velez is the former head coach at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford. After serving as assistant coach and defensive coordinator for six seasons, Velez took on head coaching responsibilities in 2011. In his time at Choate, Velez has coached 7 All-Americans, 14 All-New England selections, and numerous All-Founders’ League honorees. In 2013, Choate won the Founders’ League title and Velez was named US Lacrosse Coach of the Year in Western New England. Coach Velez has helped numerous players reach the collegiate level with recent graduates attending Duke, Denver, Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, Michigan, Villanova, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, Lehigh, Tufts, Amherst, Middlebury, St. Lawrence, Gettysburg, and many other Division I and III schools. He has also coached two Major League Lacrosse Draftees, one FIL World Lacrosse Championships athlete, several league Player of the Year honorees, and a two-time Division III Player of the Year. As a high school student-athlete, Velez graduated from Choate, was an All-Founders League Lacrosse honoree and an All-Western New England Honorable Mention. Prior to returning to his alma mater in 2004, Velez won a National Championship and was a four-year varsity letterman at Middlebury College.
Four-time CT Coach of the year 2001/2002/2010/2017, Cheshire HS Varsity Head Coach since 1998 (retired 2019'), CHSCA Gatorade Coach of the Year 2002, National Coach of the Year 2002 & 2017. Coach P was honored as the 2018 US Lacrosse CT Coach Of The Year and a finalist for the US Lacrosse National Coach Of The Year. Coach P and his Rams were 2002 & 2010 CT HS State Champions and he is responsible for placing 200+ student-athletes into college. Cheshire HS & Dean College Hall of Fame. Springfield College Goalie.
